Event Policy and Guidelines
Whether you’re planning a small community activity or a major festival, you’ll find step-by-step support, from permit applications to venue hire details, to make the process straightforward. We’ve also shared helpful resources from state and industry partners to guide you through the finer details of event safety, planning and compliance.
Event Management Policy
The Barossa Council’s Event Management Policy guides the safe, consistent and responsible delivery of events across our region. It provides a clear framework to support organisers, protect community interests, and ensure events contribute positively to the Barossa’s social, cultural and economic wellbeing.
The Policy outlines Council’s expectations and responsibilities, promotes best-practice planning and risk management, and helps ensure events are accessible, sustainable and aligned with our community’s values. Together, these principles enable events that enhance the Barossa experience for residents, visitors and local businesses alike.
Event Guidelines
The Barossa Council’s Event Guidelines are designed to help organisers plan and deliver safe, well-managed and successful events across our region. The guidelines sit alongside Council’s Event Management Policy, Event Permit Application, Venue Hire requirements and Terms & Conditions giving a practical, step-by-step framework from planning through to delivery.
The guidelines outline:
- What event organisers are responsible for
- The approvals you may need
- Responsibilities when using Council land, venues or facilities.
With clear, consistent advice, the Event Guidelines ensure events are safe, inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the Barossa’s unique character.
