Licences and permits
Some activities may need Council approval before being carried out.
If you're looking to make changes to Council land, such as driveway modifications, planting trees and irrigation to road verges and water connections, you'll need to apply for approval. Approval is also needed for temporary and permanent signage, if you'd like to use an unmade road, or would like to do business on Council land. And, if you're holding an event there are various things to consider that may require licences or permits such as serving alcohol, selling food and road closures.

Types of licences and permits
Business activity on Council land
You can apply to use public land for activities such as busking, selling raffle tickets or collecting donations.
Community water supply
Our community water supply provides additional water resources to our communities to support those in need during droughts.
Food trucks
Mobile Food Vendors, better known as food trucks, are welcome in The Barossa Council region where food or beverage is the primary product being provided and a permit has been obtained.
Footpath trading
Under Council by-laws a business or organisation can apply for commercial use of a council footpath for outdoor dining or display of goods on a footpath.
Liquor Licence
If you're looking at selling or providing a space for the consumption of alcohol, you may require a Liquor Licence.
Modifications and alterations to roads
Changing the road environment, for example to construct driveway crossovers or utilities connections, needs approval.
Road verges
Residents have certain responsibilities around maintaining road verges.
