Bin Service
Council is committed to environmentally responsible waste and resource recovery services. The service mix promotes the protection of public health and assists the community to waste less and recycle more.
A kerbside bin service is available to households and commercial premises within the Designated Waste Collection Area and along the Approved Collection Route.
Bin Collection Calendar
Your waste, recycling and green organic bins are collected by Solo Resource Recovery on a specific day for your property. Please place your bins out for collection the night before. Collections in townships generally start at 7am, but collections in rural areas can begin much earlier. Download the bin collection calendar or contact Council on 08 8563 8444 to find out what day and week your bins are collected. Hard copy calendars can also be collected from the Nuriootpa Council office.
Forget what bin week it is? Don't worry, you're not alone.
Your Barossa mobile app is available to download from the Apple Store and Google Play. You can set bin day reminders and the app will remind you to take your bins out the day of and/or the day before your bin day. It will also let you know what bin type to take out.
Please note, to our best knowledge the 'Your Barossa' mobile app bin data is as accurate. If you notice any incorrect bin information, please let us know by completing the incorrect bin collection details form.
Bin Service Types
If you live in a township, we provide a three-bin kerbside collection service. If you live within a rural area along the Approved Collection Route, you will have access to a two-bin service that may be serviced at the kerbside or a Collection Point. There are some properties that because of their location are not Service Entitled and may be eligible to purchase a Rural Refuse Ticket to bring household waste to Springton Transfer Station at a discounted rate.

Under special circumstances, a red waste bin service upgrade is available free of charge to residents. However, there are set conditions for these special circumstances to reduce waste to landfill and encourage further recycling.
