Request for special circumstances (Red waste bin upgrade service)
Service entitled residents are provided a 140L red waste (Landfill) bin. Under special circumstances, a red waste bin service upgrade to a 240L bin is offered free of charge to residents. However, there are set conditions for these special circumstances and they are primarily to encourage further recycling.
A property owner may request special service under the following circumstances:
a) A large family,
b) Where the household has young children in disposable nappies, OR
b) Special medical conditions.
You must provide evidence as outlined in the Waste Management Service Policy (Clause 3.9) with the request. Any special circumstance provision will be renewed biannually to confirm eligibility. A renewal application will be issued by Council prior to the renewal date.
You are required to notify Council if your circumstances change, this includes moving from your current premises or a variation in your health/family status. Application for this service does not guarantee approval and each request is individually assessed. All applications are subject to Council approval.
