Tanunda Recreation Park has a brand new inclusive playground, located on the corner of Park Street and Bilyara Road.
A new vehicle entry point is now available off of Bilyara Road, providing greater visibility, safety and ease of traffic within the park.
The existing entry has be turned into pedestrian access, with preservation of the heritage gates.
Features of the new playground include a flying fox, trampolines, climbing/elevated play, slides, swings, monkey bars, sand and water play, barbecue shelter, drink fountain, seating and an all access toilet block.
Construction work commenced in December 2021 with an official opening held on 20 December 2022.
Cost
A total budget of $1,113,000.00 to design and construct the new playground through the following funding.
- State Government Open Space and Places for People Grant Program: $330,221
- The Barossa Council: $782,800

- Consolidated Landscape Services awarded contract to build the new inclusive playground on 3 January 2022.
