A major renewal of the main oval at Tanunda is underway, paving the way for a high-quality playing surface that will complete the redevelopment of Tanunda Recreation Park.
Reconstruction of the oval surface, including drainage and irrigation, will ensure the oval continues to act as a regional-level facility to attract national and state events and support Association football and cricket.
At the same time, we’re extending the oval from 160 metres to 171 metres, making Tanunda Oval comparable to similar sized grounds in the Barossa. The investment of $303,000 includes extension of the playing surface, irrigation, fencing, tree removal and changes to parking and viewing mounds.
During the upgrade, the junior oval and Park precinct remain available for recreation activities.
