Threats to biodiversity
We recognise the threats that introduced plants and animal pest species have on our natural environment and productivity within the region. As such, we work collaboratively with the Northern and Yorke Landscape SA Board to strategically control the highest priority pests on our Barossa roadsides and in areas of high biodiversity value.
The green team in our Infrastructure and Environmental Services crew control plant and animal pests within our parks and gardens. They regularly undertake targeted and timely spot spraying.
Pest animal species control requires an Integrated Pest Management Strategy to include several property owners and a range of methods. The Northern & Yorke Landscape Board's Landscape Officers can help to develop a plan and recommend suitable contractors.
