Road resheeting

Resheeting roads involves placing a fresh layer of quarry rubble over the current surface. This procedure is necessary to address various issues such as defects, hazards, structural weaknesses, and overall deterioration of the road. Essentially, it's like giving the road a makeover to fix any problems and ensure it remains safe and durable for drivers and pedestrians.

This map highlights all programmed, commenced and completed works across the Barossa including road resealing and resheeting, footpath improvements, drainage upgrades, kerb and gutter works, and key projects.

The road resheeting program includes a list of roads that have been identified as requiring an upgrade due to various issues. The program is budgeted for within our Annual Budget and Business Plan.

Council has assessed rural roads against the designated road categories based on road function and safety. This allows us to prioritise resources and ensure Barossa roads are effectively maintained and managed against agreed service levels.

*Please note that specified roads may not be fully completed in the current financial year and the list is subject to change. This does not include roads that require maintenance throughout the year for other various unprecedented reasons.
