Road resealing

Resealing is a common method for preventing road deterioration to provide a smooth and safe road for all users. It involves applying a fresh layer of bitumen and stone or aggregate onto an existing surface. Despite typically taking only one to two days to complete, the benefits are substantial and long-lasting. Resealing can extend the lifespan of local roads by approximately ten years.

We address road failures, enhance road surfaces, and update line markings to ensure that both residents and visitors can safely travel on our local roads throughout the entire network.

Road resealing annual program

Council assesses local roads against the designated road categories based on road function and safety. This allows Council to prioritise resources and to ensure Barossa roads are effectively maintained and managed against agreed service levels.

FAQs

If you are directly affected by upcoming works, such as living on the same road as or nearby the works, you will be notified prior to works commencing.

First, you'll receive advance notice in the mail a month or so out from the intended start date.

Secondly, around two weeks out from the planned works, you will receive mail to confirm the work is about to start. This will include what works are involved, contractor information, contact details and expected completion date, weather pending.
