Angas Recreation Park redevelopment project

Angas Recreation Park Masterplan balances green spaces with sympathetic development of sport, recreation and multi-use activities.

Key improvements include a junior oval, expanded multi-use clubroom and changeroom facilities and shared Show Hall facilities.

Between September to October 2017, Council undertook extensive community consultation on proposed plans for Angas Recreation Park. In addition to community and stakeholder engagement, Council hosted open forums and pop-ups at various locations attracting 31 formal submissions and 45 informal submissions.

Council adopted the Angas Recreation Park Masterplan, committing to a traffic management plan and landscaping reference group based on community feedback.

Angas Recreation Park was officially opened by Mayor Lange OAM on Saturday, 26 March 2022.

Total project cost is in the order of $3.1M consisting of the following funding:

• The Barossa Council: $1.8M
• Office Recreation Sport and Racing Grant: $881,000
• Cricket Australia: $26,800 (cricket nets)
• Angaston Football Club: $330,000
• Angas Recreation Park: $14,000
• In kind support circa: $50,000
