Wetland brings life
17 Feb 2025A beautiful wetland area is coming to life, thanks to thousands of native plants and grasses propagated by our dedicated team of volunteers at Barossa Bushgardens nursery.
The Barossa Park wetland not only serves as a stormwater detention basin at the Lyndoch site, collecting irrigation water from the ovals and surrounds and filtering sediment and nutrients, but also enhances biodiversity.
A diverse mix of plant species will attract a variety of birds, animals and invertebrates, creating a lively ecosystem while providing another space for the community to enjoy.
Can you believe more than 400 trees and 10,000 plants and grasses have already been planted in this stormwater wetland and surrounding landscape?
And, we haven't finished yet!
