Shining a brighter light on our ovals

Angaston and Nuriootpa’s main ovals lighting has been upgraded to 300 lux lighting, with local contractor CSJ Electrical completing the job.

Essential for our community’s safety and sporting success, the upgrades were jointly funded by Nuriootpa Rover Football Club, Angaston Football Club and Council, including grant funding sourced from the Office for Recreation Sport and Racing, South Australian Cricket Association and SANFL.

Angaston Football Club's secretary and local history guru, Anthony "Shooby" Schubert, says the old lights at Angas Recreation Park date back to 1983.

"You can't buy the globes anymore," he said.

"These lights will be much better for footy training, and we can have night matches here now too if we wanted to, especially the cricket. They could never have played here at night with the old ones."
