16 Jul 2026Council is rolling out a new long-term footpath program, with Angaston residents already benefiting from upgrades focussed on improving connections within Barossa townships.
The freshly built footpath from Good Shepherd Lutheran School to Angas Recreation Park, heralded the start of the new initiative which will add and complete footpath networks over the next 10-15 years.
Mayor Bim Lange said the “New Footpaths Program” will connect residents to key community infrastructure.
“It’s important for our residents to move safely around their community,” Mayor Lange said.
“It’s especially important for our young people who need to get to and from school, after school sports and other activities."
By building new footpaths we are helping families live a more active lifestyle and that was a key takeaway from our recent Health and Wellbeing Survey.
The 2026/27 budget includes the construction of new footpaths along Valley Road, Radford Road and Gramp Avenue to enhance connectivity to essential services within Angaston.
Meanwhile, Council’s regular footpath renewal program continues to be a priority, with 18 on the list for upgrades this financial year.
