Funding boost for Concordia
22 Jul 2024We've secured $399,746 through Stream 1 of the Australian Government’s $1.5 billion Housing Support Program to support the recruitment of three roles as part of our Housing Growth Resourcing Project.
A senior strategic planner, a senior policy officer and a development engineer will join the team to work on the Concordia Growth Area, South Australia’s most significant greenfield development.
With an additional 10,000 homes proposed for Concordia over the next 25 years, accommodating approximately 25,000 new residents, Mayor Bim Lange welcomed the funding boost as plans for what he describes as a "vibrant and contemporary community with livability, sustainability and longevity at its core" move forward.
This money gives us an opportunity to have additional resources to ensure we come up with the best possible Barossa Concordia we can develop.
"It will enable us to provide the appropriate amenities that need to be considered well before the first house is built. It's also timely with the release of our draft Growth and Infrastructure Investment Strategy 2024 currently being collated.
“We are working closely with State Government and developers on the rezoning of Concordia Growth Area and the government has recently released the Housing Roadmap, detailing the timeline for delivery of housing at Concordia.”
