Christmas shopping spectacular
12 Nov 2025We're sprinkling magic dust in Tanunda and adding a dash of sparkle to create the ultimate Christmas shopping experience!
In partnership with local traders, this year's Tanunda Christmas Shopping Night will be held on 20 November from 4pm to 8pm and it’s set to be bigger and brighter than ever.
Nearly 30 businesses will keep their doors open late, while the Barossa Visitor Centre will host its special Christmas Twilight edition of the Barossa Makers & Beyond Market under the twinkling lights of the town square.
Locals and visitors can stroll the main street, take advantage of one-off in-store discounts and festive deals, plus enjoy the sights and sounds of the market atmosphere created by the nearly 40 stalls offering local handcrafted and artisan wares.
Christmas carols will echo through the main street with roaming performances from members of the Tanunda Town Band, while Steve Angel will be singing in the town square.
And, thanks to the generosity of Rockford Wines and others, crowds can witness the Christmas light display at the Tanunda Rotunda officially launch into all its dazzling glory.
The Barossa Council’s Megan Sweeney, Team Leader Visitor Services, said she can’t wait to see the community come together for a festive shopping spree.
Our region boasts so many artists, craftspeople and producers that create beautiful, regionally sourced products.
“The Barossa and Beyond Christmas Twilight Market provides such a lovely opportunity to meet the maker, connect with their story and find that extra special, handcrafted gift. What a wonderful opportunity to discover something truly unique for everyone on your Christmas gift list.”
Many of Tanunda’s restaurants, wine bars and eateries will be open into the night to encourage the community to linger longer, and there’ll be a Kids’ Christmas Trail too.
“Start at the Barossa Visitor Centre, collect your trail guide, then explore the participating Main Street traders,” said Megan.
“We want the Tanunda Shopping Night to be vibrant event which brings our community together, supports our local traders and makers, and showcases what our region does so well.”
