Construction of a new Soccer Precinct is being delivered in the north end of Nuriootpa Centennial Park.
New facilities are built to Football SA (FSA) and International Football Association Board (IFAB) Laws of the Game requirements.
Works to be delivered as part of the new Precinct includes:
- Full size equivalent (FSE) synthetic football pitch for all ages/user/gender training and competition
- Pitch lighting and fencing infrastructure
- Grass modified pitch (MODI) for training and local competition levels, maintaining existing FSE grass pitch
- 4 x changeroom and clubroom facilities including kitchen, canteen, storage, medical, user amenities, plus referee facilities
- Associated internal road, car parking and service amenities and upgrades

Costs
Total Project costs come to $6,031,000 with funding from the following:
- The Barossa Council: $4,696,548
- Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program - Phase 2: $1,034,462
- Barossa United Football Club: $300,000
Contractors
- Local company Bishop Building were awarded the contract to build the new soccer clubrooms and changerooms on 13 November 2023.
- Greenplay were awarded a contract to build the synthetic pitch on 25 February 2022.
- Local business CSJ Electrical were awarded the contract to construct the sports lighting on 22 December 2021.
- Football South Australia were awarded the contract to undertake work for the new Soccer Precinct at Nuriootpa Centennial Park on 3 August 2021.
Project timeline
Precinct is Complete
January 2025
The Precinct is complete and ready for Barossa United FC to move in.
External Paving
October 2024
The paving work around the clubrooms and changerooms is complete.
Kitchen equipment fit-out
September 2024
All kitchen equipment has now been installed.
External paintwork
August 2024
The final coat of paint has been applied to the external walls.
Bathroom fit-out
August 2024
Bathrooms and changerooms are looking great now the internal fit-out is complete.
Clubroom flooring
August 2024
The flooring and ceiling in the clubroom area is now complete.
Internal walls

Lots of progress has been made on the internal walls.
Building at lock up

External wall cladding is now complete, all windows and doors are on, and the building is at lockup.
Roof work

Framework and roof are now complete on the Soccer Clubrooms and Changerooms.

Masterplan adopted
March 2018
Nuriootpa Centennial Park and Coulthard Reserve Master Plan is adopted by Council. The working group must now prioritise, phase and cost the Master Plan and provide recommendations back to Council.
Community consultation commenced
March 2017
The first community consultation meeting initiates planning for the Nuriootpa Centennial Park and Coulthard Reserve Masterplan.
