We’re pleased to announce that CSJ Electrical has been awarded the contract to install new sports lighting on the Main Oval at Angas Recreation Park. This exciting project will see the installation of four new light towers, featuring energy-efficient LED fixtures designed to deliver 300 lux illumination on the center wicket, meeting Cricket’s recommended minimum lighting levels for local club competition and providing a fantastic boost for evening training and community sport.
This project has been made possible thanks to funding commitments from The Barossa Council, the Angaston Football Club, and grant funding from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing, the South Australian Cricket Association, and the South Australian National Football League. Their combined support is helping bring this valuable community upgrade to life.
Works are scheduled to begin by the end of November 2025 and are expected to be completed by March 2026. Importantly, construction will take place with no impact to the playing surface, ensuring the oval remains available for community use throughout the project.
Once complete, the new lighting will enhance the park’s functionality, safety, and versatility, providing more opportunities for local clubs and the wider community to enjoy sport and recreation in a well-lit, welcoming environment.
