Sister Cities Advisory Committee
The Sister Cities Advisory Committee will provide advice and support to Council in developing programs and activities with Council’s Sister Cities helping to nurture and foster these relationships and aiming to build connected communities and generate mutual benefits for both cities.
Pursuant to Section 41 of the Local Government Act 1999, The Barossa Council has established the Sister Cities Advisory Committee operating under a Terms of Reference.
Committee members
At the February 2024 Council meeting, the following representatives were appointed to the Sister Cities Advisory Committee:
Community representatives Vanesa Lambert, Milly Hoffmann, Louise Hickinbotham and James March. Council will consider a further appointment if a nomination is received during the current period.
Organisational representatives Scott Hazeldine (Barossa Australia), Rolf Binder (RDA Barossa, Gawler, Light and Adelaide Plains), Sandie Simons (Rotary Club of Barossa Valley), Rick Lane (Nuriootpa High School).
They will be joined by Mayor Bim Lange as presiding member and Council staff representation.
Members must be committed to attend and participate in meetings and be actively engaged in the planning and execution of program activities and initiatives.
