About Barossa Wildlife Rescue
Barossa Wildlife Rescue (BWR) is a community-run charity that provides wildlife rescue, rehabilitation & release services in the Barossa Valley region. In the last year BWR performed 800 rescues and received 400 calls for advice.
Our mission is to provide a sustainable rescue and rehabilitation service for local wildlife by ensuring we have the equipment, personnel and facilities to provide compliant and compassionate wildlife rescue and care. This is enabled through mentoring and training carers, sustainable financial management and a robust governance structure.
Over 50 volunteers ranging in age from 12 to 80+ make up the tight knit BWR community, coming from all walks of life. BWR celebrates diversity and works to empower its volunteers, including our youth, people living with disabilities and retirees.”
