Opportunity for Volunteers to join Lutheran Care's Emergency Relief Barossa Team, based at in Tanunda.
Looking for volunteers who are empathetic with good communication and listening skills. This role will help people in our local area by providing Emergency Relief to households who are in an immediate need to overcome an unforeseen financial situation or crisis.
By volunteering as a Volunteer Emergency Financial Assistance Interviewer, you will provide emergency relief in the form of material assistance, such as food, vouchers, and bedding/linen, alongside community information and referrals to other services.
Your responsibilities will include greeting and interviewing clients, assessing their eligibility for assistance, completing paperwork accurately and promptly, advocating on behalf of clients when relevant, referring them to other services within Lutheran Care or appropriate services, replenishing pantry stock, adhering to LC's policies and procedures, modelling ethical behaviour consistent with Lutheran Care's values and Code of Conduct, respecting privacy and confidentiality, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, promoting and following LC's Work Health and Safety guidelines.
You will be non-judgmental and welcoming to people from all cultures and backgrounds and have the ability to be flexible.
About Lutheran Care
Lutheran Care provides support to families, couples and individuals in the Barossa Council and surrounding areas. Services are based in Nuriootpa and include emergency relief, financial counselling, family and relationship counselling, community services support, tax help, the Community Visitors Scheme program and Christmas hampers.
