Set your clothes free
It’s time to let go and direct your quality pre-loved clothing and unwanted linens towards a new life away from landfill.
Thanks to Green Industries SA (GISA), The Barossa Council has been selected to host “set your clothes free”, a one-day clothing and textile recycling event on Saturday, 1 November.
To be held in the car park of the Nuriootpa Council office between 9am and 3pm, community members are invited to drive in, open their car boots and unload quality clothes, footwear and clean textiles which will then be sorted by volunteers from The Valley Red Cross Op Shop.
Donations of all types of clothing and footwear still in good enough condition to be worn will be accepted. Clean household linens in any condition, worn or torn, including bedding, bath towels, kitchen towels, curtains and more can also be dropped off to be recycled.
However, doonas, pillows and mattresses will not be accepted on the day.
Remember, if the items are good enough to give to a friend or family member to wear, then they’re good enough to be donated.
