You're Invited: Barossa Park Community Open Day

Celebrating the Redevelopment of Lyndoch Recreation Park

Join us for a special community event as we officially open the newly redeveloped Barossa Park – a revitalised space in the heart of Lyndoch that’s ready to bring sport, connection, and celebration to life.

📍 Location: Barossa Valley Way, Lyndoch SA 5351

Proudly delivered by The Barossa Council in partnership with Government of South Australia and Barossa District Football and Netball Club, the Barossa Park Project has transformed Lyndoch Recreation Park into a vibrant, multi-use destination for everyone. Redevelopment highlights include:

  • An upgraded main oval built to AFL standards
  • A recreation green/second oval supporting relocated athletics facilities
  • A brand-new multi-purpose building featuring a 300-seat event space, commercial kitchen, clubroom, change rooms, and gym

Come along and explore the space, enjoy live music by Chayse Larsen, and get involved with “Come n Try” activities hosted by local sporting clubs. It’s a chance to connect, get active, and celebrate this exciting new chapter with your community.

Barossa District Open Day – Activity Overview

  • Activity: BLGFA U13 Association Football Training for viewing.

📍 Oval 2

  • 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Auskick
  • Details: Introductory AFL skills for young children (pre-registered participants only).
  • Cricket Blast
  • Lyndoch Cricket Club
  • Details:
    • Entry-level cricket program for kids (age 5–9 target, open to all).

📍 Tennis Courts

  • Activity: Tennis “Come 'n Try” Session
  • Lyndoch Tennis Club
  • Details:
    • Open to all ages.
    • Clubrooms will be open for visitors.

📍 Football & Netball Clubrooms

  • Activity: Open Clubrooms
  • Barossa District Netball Football Club
  • Details:
    • Common areas (kitchen, canteen, bar) accessible via roller doors.
    • Opportunity for community members to explore facilities.

  • Southern Barossa Alliance - Information and community engagement.
  • Barossa Valley Racing Pigeon Club - open day/morning and member meet and greet
