ANZAC illumination 20-26 April
A light display on the front vertical panel of Council’s Nuriootpa office will honour our local servicemen and women to commemorate ANZAC Day.
Supported by a grant from the Government of South Australia, images will be projected onto the building, accompanied by a community-created art display by the 2nd Angaston Scout Group on the lawn in front of the building.
The ANZAC illumination will run from dusk until dawn from 20-26 April and a QR code onsite will direct viewers to the stories of those who feature in the display.
Scouts who participated in the project will be recognised with the 2026 "Their Service - Our Heritage" badge through Scouts Australia.
2026 also marks the 75th Anniversary of the formation of the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps (RAANC), and we are proud to honour several women in the ANZAC Illumination. Find out more.
Tanunda WW1 Roll of Honour Project
The Barossa Council’s ANZAC Day projection 2026 presents a carefully selected cross section of Barossa service stories across generations, conflicts and forms of contribution. Together, these service stories look beyond lists and dates to create a portrait of our community, prompting us to reflect on how service has shaped families, work and place.
The ANZAC Day Soldiers projection links to the Barossa Regional Gallery’s WW1 Tanunda Soldiers Roll of Honour project. Together, these projects share an invitation for families to contribute information, photographs, and objects (on loan) for lasting community memory.
This work contributes to a long-term project to create a publicly accessible and interpretive record of the Tanunda WW1 Roll of Honour.
Learn more and contribute to a foundation for future region-wide record of service, shaped by our community, by visiting WW1 Soldiers Roll of Honour project.
